We're so thankful for your data and work through ECEA- you’ve really paved a critical road on behalf of our early childhood care and educational industry. We’re preparing for summer camp enrollment and parents are beginning to grapple with remembering that UPK doesn’t cover care over the summer. We're writing an appeal to families to encourage them to contact their reps about how this impacts them!! ECEA has inspired us to not stay quiet. We're trying to paint the picture that childcare centers strive for quality, which families want, but all of the components of quality increase the price for families, and within the regulatory, tax, insurance, and legislative environment (aka UPK and competition with the school district), a community-wide problem is placed on the shoulders of individual centers to figure out how to stay in operation and individual families to figure out how to afford and access.

We've been so appreciative of ECEA's advocacy work and being able to quote your data to paint the picture, not come off as complaining, but also empower us to remember that we’re not victims and we have a voice to speak up for our children, families, industry, and one another. I never imagined I’d be doing “this kind” of work, but now I can’t imagine not doing it. We're so appreciative of the way ECEA models that change is possible.
